In the Bahnar community, many intangible cultural heritage values are at risk of being lost. Bahnar folk songs are one of the rich and diverse intangible cultural forms but are little known and less popular.
Bahnar folk songs contain many unique values, with high educational significance in the community. From the moment a child is born, he or she hears the sound of gongs and "mother's lullabies", grows up and hears the "victory celebration" songs of the young men returning from the war, and when old, hears the "village celebration" songs...
Kong Long Khong commune, Kbang district is the main residence of the Bahnar people. There are still some familiar folk songs that the Bahnar community still preserves and practices every day.
Below are 06 folk songs recorded and translated with support from the Heritage Connecting Fund sponsored by the British Council Vietnam. These recordings were made in March 2024 by Bahnar artisans living in Kong Long Khong commune.
